Movie Plot:
Following release from prison, Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) meets with her former partner-in-crime Lou (Cate Blanchett) to convince her to join a heist that she planned while serving her sentence.
Debbie and Lou assemble the rest of their team: Rose Weil (Helena Bonham Carter), a disgraced fashion designer who is deeply in debt with the IRS, Amita (Mindy Kaling), a jewelry maker and friend of Debbie’s who is eager to move out of her mother’s house and start her own life, Nine Ball (Rihanna), a computer hacker, Constance (Awkwafina), a street hustler and pickpocket and Tammy (Sarah Paulson), a profiteer and another friend of Debbie's who has been secretly selling stolen goods out of her family’s suburban home.
Together they plan to steal the Toussaint, a $150 million Cartier necklace, which will be worn by Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway), a dim-witted and snobby actress, on the Met Gala.
Review:
I personally was very eager to see this movie due to the numerous talented actresses in it. Once I saw the trailer, I knew I was going to watch that movie ASAP. All the cast did a great job, the script was incredibly written and the movie was jaw dropping. I was thrilled by the talent of the actors and actresses and the scenes were amazing.
There were abundant breath-taking scenes as well as hilarious ones. What I really loved were the numerous celebrities that appeared as themselves at the Met Gala like Kylie Jenner and Hailey Baldwin. I also enjoyed the appearance of James Corden in the role of John Frazier, an insurance fraud investigator.
The movie works both as a spin-off and a continuation to the infamous Ocean's Trilogy (Ocean's Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen) due to the fact that Debbie Ocean's brother is Danny Ocean. A character which is portrayed by Frank Sinatra in the trilogy.
